I recently was able to take a trip back to see my family in Illinois. While I was there, I saw my grandfather. My grandfather is 91, and he lives in a nursing home. I was fortunate enough to see him a couple of times while I was there. The unfortunate thing was, that on my return trip back to South Carolina I found out that he had fallen, and broken his hip. He will definitely be in my prayers for a quick recovery.
This situation with my grandfather got me thinking. That is not how I want to spend the last years of my life (I sure that is not the way he wants to spend it either). That is why I do things now that are health enhancing for a better future. A future that does not include life in a nursing home or hooked up to tubes to eat, breath or use the restroom. Seeing my grandfather's situation, made me wonder if I did more for him would he be in the condition he is presently in. Who know's for sure, but I feel like I should have done more. I should of insisted on him finding a chiropractor to help keep his nervous system interference free. To help him optimize his body's innate healing abilities. I don't know if that would have kept him from falling and braking his hip, but I do know his quality of life would have been better. That alone could have made all the difference.
This news of my grandfather has strengthened my resolve, and instilled a new energy within me, to tell more people about Chiropractic and a healthy lifestyle. Not just for today or for a little while, but for a lifetime. You live your life through your nervous system, so it should be functioning optimally for a lifetime. You do that by getting your nervous system checked for interference with a chiropractor. You do it not to get rid of something, but to gain something. That something is health and a better quality of life. It's not just for now, it's for your future and your family's future. The decisions you make today, affect you years down the road. Let's make good decisions now, so we don't have to live our lives confined to a room, or a chair or hooked to tubes. Live life to it's fullest now and always.
Grandpa you are in my heart and prayers. Thank you for inspiring me to do more for others.
